Job summary

Defense Health Agency at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, TX seeks a Physician Anesthesiologist for direct hire. US citizens only, provide anesthesia for surgical procedures and supervise recovery activities in a Level 1 trauma center.

Requirements include MD/DO or equivalent, active US licensure, and completed Anesthesiology residency with graduate training evidence. Salary is determined after offer via a tiered federal pay process.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent from US/Canada; transcripts may be required.
• Active medical license in a US state or territory.
• Residency in Anesthesiology completed; 1 year of supervised clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services for all patient categories.
• Administer diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks for pain management.
• Oversee recovery room activities and administer therapies.
• Instruct nurse anesthesia students, physicians, interns, and rotating physicians.
• Perform advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures and make treatment recommendations.
• Other duties as assigned.
