Overview

The Department of Anesthesiology for District Medical Group (DMG) is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Anesthesiologist for a full‑time clinical practice at Valleywise Health Care System. Valleywise Health Medical Center is a community‑based, university‑affiliated teaching facility with ACS verified and State designated Level 1 Adult Trauma and ABA verified Burn Center in the metropolitan Phoenix area.

Responsibilities

The clinical practice includes L&D, neonatal and general pediatric surgery, general surgery, robotic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, burn, level I trauma, orthopedics, podiatric surgery, and special procedures outside the OR. TEE equipment is available to our anesthesiologists for perioperative and critical care patients. About 11,000 anesthesia encounters are generated per year. In‑house call is 4–5 times per month. The position requires flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work with high‑acuity adult and pediatric patients while supervising and teaching emergency medicine and surgery residents, CRNAs, student nurse anesthetist, and medical students. This teaching exposure provides opportunities for our physicians to apply for academic appointments at affiliated universities.
