Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking an Anesthesiology support technician to perform specialized equipment setup and provide procedural support within the Department of Anesthesiology. This role involves preparing anesthesia equipment, assisting in OR readiness, and participating in on-call activities.

Responsibilities include equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and acting as a resource for anesthesia providers, with involvement in Cell Saver and liver transplant programs as required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• Experience with anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting.
• Ability to support operating room procedures and on-call activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and places anesthesia equipment and supplies in operating room prior to arrival of patient, based on case variables.
• Ensures cleanliness of anesthesia equipment and availability of supplies for designated ORs.
• Performs equipment set-up, calibration, operation and troubleshooting.
• Functions as a resource for Anesthesiology providers.
• Participates in Cell Saver and Liver Transplant Programs, including on-call procedures.
• Performs set-up and support of out-of-OR anesthesia procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
