An Anesthesia Technologist I performs all the duties of the Anesthesia Technician. This role is responsible for supporting anesthesia care through the preparation and maintenance of equipment, assistance with patient monitoring, and adherence to safety protocols. It requires a foundational understanding of anesthesia procedures, equipment, and medications, and includes documenting clinical information, preparing emergency airway equipment, and supporting invasive line setup. The Technologist I also participates in quality assurance, training of new staff, and ongoing professional development activities.
Work Type: On-site - Works at a physical workplace, interacting with colleagues face-to-face.
Education - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and one (1) year of related healthcare experience as an Anesthesia Technician and competency-based evaluation.
Certification - Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 90 days of hire
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day; 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday; Lifting 50 lbs max; frequent standing & walking and pushing and pulling; Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environmental conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, and environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
