Job summary

The Ohio State University’s James Cancer Hospital seeks an Anesthesia Technician (Full-Time) to support anesthesia services and manage equipment for surgical procedures.

You'll set up, inspect, calibrate anesthesia devices, coordinate auto transfusion services, and collaborate with surgeons, nurses, CRNAs, and anesthesiologists to ensure patient safety and efficient operating room flow. This is a 40-hour weekly, first shift position with regular status.

Provides diagnostic and treatment services during regular recurring critical care situations: set up, check, inspect, maintain and calibrate a variety of anesthesia equipment. Performs various anesthesia specialized treatment procedures that will significantly affect the accuracy and reliability of further processes associated with the anesthetic course of the patient. The team reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team consisting of registered nurses, surgical technologist, anesthesiologist, CRNAs, and surgeon provides patient care and supportive services that are directed toward achievement of patient care outcomes, improving service levels, reducing length of hospitalization and decreasing costs. Additionally, the Anesthesia Technician is responsible for coordinating Anesthesia and auto transfusion services, including technical and logistical support to the physicians and hospital staff for surgical procedures. The Anesthesia Technician will follow all standards regarding safety of all patients, staff and self. In addition, all work areas are to be stocked according to levels, clean and organized. The Anesthesia Technician is also responsible for demonstrating a positive, collaborative attitude, and being respectful to all patients, family and staff.
