Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of patient care experience in OR or ED within the last five years.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and patient care principles.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and infection-control policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and sets up equipment for anesthesia procedures.
• Assists anesthetist with monitoring, induction and intubation.
• Cleans and sterilizes anesthesia instruments and equipment.
• Orders supplies and ensures work areas are stocked.
• Maintains department equipment and schedules repairs.
• Supports placement of IV lines and invasive monitoring devices.
• Assists in transporting and monitoring patients to the OR.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and infection-control policies.
• Performs related duties as required.
