1103 Team Member Services in Winter Garden, FL is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to assist anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, and airway management, and to ensure equipment is ready for cases.

The role requires completing an Anesthesia Technology training program, BLS certification, and preferred 1+ year of experience in anesthesia tech. The position is full-time, Day shift, with a pay range listed and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as anesthesia tech preferred.
• BLS required; Anesthesia Tech Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, IV/invasive line setup, and airway management.
• Maintain and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment and ensure stock of supplies.
• Set up operating rooms and prepare equipment for invasive procedures and monitoring.
• Provide peri-operative technical support to anesthesia staff during patient care delivery.
• Assist with equipment procurement, assembly, and operation of specialized devices.

Job Description

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Assists anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, transporting, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management.
• Maintains and troubleshoots anesthesia equipment malfunctions.
• Ensures necessary equipment and supply inventory remain in stock.
• Provides routine and emergency services for anesthesiologists.
• Assists with schedule preparations, including emergent and urgent surgical procedures involving anesthesia.
• Assists anesthesia professional staff with preparation and draping of patients for invasive monitoring/procedures and anticipates needs for invasive monitor insertion and procedures.
• Sets up operating room for cases, including preparation of laryngoscope, intubation equipment, IV solution, tubing set-up, and IV warming devices.
• Provides peri-operative technical support to the anesthesia professional staff for delivery of patient care.
• Assists with the procurement, assembly, and operation of specialized equipment such as humidification units, fiber optic endoscopic equipment, rapid infusion devices/blood warmers, patient warming devices, neuromuscular devices, infusion pumps, and syringes.
• Maintains and organizes the anesthesia environment, equipment, supplies, and personnel to facilitate department functions and ensure efficient flow of cases.
• Cleans and sets up anesthesia equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
• Knowledge and basic skills related to aseptic/ sterile technique and sterility of supplies [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
• Ability to appropriately monitor dosages and use clinical equipment [Required]

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]
• Associate [Preferred]
• Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
• Completion of an Anesthesia Technologytraining program [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ experience as an anesthesia tech [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Anesthesia Technician Certification (AT) [Preferred]
• OR Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer. A.T.T.) [Preferred]
