Responsibilities

• Provides anesthesia technician services to patients under direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia care provider.
• Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders/stocks, and maintains routine anesthesia equipment.
• Maintains anesthesia medications, supplies and equipment according to needs and schedules.
• Prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra and post anesthesia with consideration of age-specific needs.
• Performs basic troubleshooting for monitors and equipment and reports defects or malfunctions immediately.
• Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Documents and maintains preventative maintenance and quality records.
• Assists with transportation of patients and laboratory specimens as necessary.
• Participates in multidisciplinary rounds/meetings as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
