Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Surgical Support Technician to assist with surgical and endoscopy procedures, prepare and care for anesthesia supplies, instruments and equipment, and maintain the sterile field in the operating room.

Under supervision, you will help clean, process and stock the surgical suite, report issues to managers or clinicians, and perform duties in line with the hospital's mission and values.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have a national certification and maintain annual recertification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical and endoscopy procedures and maintain anesthesia supplies and equipment.
• Clean, process and stock the surgical suite before, during and after procedures.
• Identify and report issues to supervisor or clinician.

Under general supervision of medical and nursing staff, following policies, procedures and professional guidelines, assists with surgical and endoscopy procedures, provides, assembles and cares for anesthesia supplies, instruments and equipment before, during and after procedures. Assists with cleaning, processing and stocking of the surgical suite, anesthesia instruments and equipment as needed. Identifies and reports situations requiring intervention to the manager or clinician. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
