High School level of knowledge with ability to comprehend technical and medical terminology. Knowledge of medical terminology and principles of asepsis required. Knowledge of cardiovascular equipment, cardiovascular technology and anatomy required. Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care to patients throughout life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
Six months operating room experience. Additional direct patient care experience is preferred. Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred.
Incumbent is exposed to patient-care environment and works with electrical equipment. Any risk of exposure to contagious or noxious elements is minimized by adherence to safety procedures and protocols.
