Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesia care teams by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies, assisting with patient care during anesthesia, and ensuring the functionality of specialized anesthesia technology.

Responsibilities include assisting with intubations, operating cell-saver machines, and performing preventive maintenance on anesthesia equipment. On-call coverage and training program participation are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of two years' experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
• Preferred education includes a four-year degree with technical training or a two-year degree with relevant experience; equivalent combinations also considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare anesthesia equipment and monitors before patient arrival and ensure readiness throughout procedures.
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters.
• Operate cell-saver machines, track lab reports, and support complex surgical cases.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot devices."
• Develop and deliver in-service training for staff on anesthesia technologist roles.
• Set up operating rooms and carts between cases; provide end-of-day service setup.
• Coordinate with other hospital units to ensure availability of specialized anesthesia equipment for out-of-OR procedures.
• Provide backup support to the shift supervisor as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Job Summary

The Anesthesia Technician provides critical support to anesthesia care teams by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies, assisting with patient care during anesthesia, and ensuring the functionality and availability of specialized anesthesia technology. This role involves direct collaboration with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and residents, supporting complex surgical procedures, and performing equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. The technician also participates in training programs and provides on-call coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare anesthesia equipment and monitors prior to patient arrival and ensure cleanliness and readiness throughout procedures.
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters.
• Operate cell-saver machines, track lab reports, and support advanced surgical cases including cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma surgeries.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot sophisticated devices such as infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors.
• Assist in the development and implementation of in-service training programs and train staff on anesthesia technologist roles and responsibilities.
• Set up operating rooms and carts between cases and provide full service setup at the end of the day.
• Coordinate with other hospital units to ensure availability of specialized anesthesia equipment for out-of-OR procedures.
• Provide backup support to the shift supervisor as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of two years' experience as an Anesthesia Technician.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• Four-year college education including related technical training, or two-year college education with technical training and two years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body.

Special Considerations

• Work includes holidays, weekends, on-call, and call-back as needed.
• Must be able to assist in high-acuity settings including cardiac and trauma surgeries.
• May be required to provide backup coverage for shift supervisors.

Scheduling

• Evening shift from 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
• Shift assignments include holidays, weekends, and on-call duties.
