Supports the anesthesia care team through the cleaning of anesthesia equipment, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Supports anesthesia care team in stocking clinical sites. **Job Duties*** Performs basic laboratory point of care testing for arterial blood gas analysis, blood coagulation test, serum glucose test, serum electrolytes test, and serum hemoglobin test.* Sets up supplies and assists in the placement of arterial lines, central lines, epidural catheters, and spinal anesthetics.* Makes documentation of damaged equipment and reports equipment problems to the appropriate authority.* Obtains blood and blood products and transfers lab specimens according to policy.* Acquires anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures and workroom.* Maintains and provides preventative maintenance on anesthesia equipment.* Follows procedural protocols associated with set up, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment.* Distributes used/dirty equipment to appropriate area for decontamination and sterilization.* Transports anesthesia equipment and supply carts to off-site anesthetizing locations. **Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED* Less than 1 year* Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to triage tasks in high stress situations.* Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile techniques.* Knowledge of the patient's rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA.* Managing one's own time and the time of others.* American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire **Preferred Qualifications*** Cer.A.T. - Certified Anesthesia Technician ASATT - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire **Physical Demands** Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
