Job summary

Corewell Health's Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids is seeking an operating room support professional. You will assist in intra-operative care, prepare and organize equipment, and ensure sterile practice across cases, working with nurses and surgical staff.

This full-time role requires a High School Diploma and OR experience, with BLS clearance and potential anesthesia tech certification. The OR team emphasizes patient safety, efficiency and cost-effective care within a high-tech environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate's Degree in related field preferred.
• 2 years patient care experience and 1 year OR experience preferred.
• AHA/ARC BLS within 60 days of hire required.
• Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, delivery and clean-up during intra-operative phase.
• Obtain and organize necessary equipment, sterile supplies and instruments for each surgical case.
• Assemble surgical supplies for rooms and case tables.
• Open sterile supplies for procedures and manage decontamination/sterilization of instruments.
• Set up anesthesia machines and run tests to ensure the air flows correctly.
