Job summary

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles seeks an Anesthesia Tech I to join the patient care team. You will assist licensed anesthesia providers with equipment prep, delivery systems, and routine support before, during and after surgery.

You will prepare and maintain monitoring devices, sterilize and stock supplies, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure patient safety and efficient operating room workflows. No prior experience required; BLS on hire preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Assoc. degree in Health Science preferred.
• No experience required, healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certification upon hire; ASATT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed anesthesia provider with equipment and supplies.
• Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems.
• Clean, sterilize, disinfect, stock, and organize routine anesthesia gear.
• Order and maintain anesthesia equipment as needed.
• Support surgical cases through proactive teamwork and communication.

The Anesthesia Tech I is an integral member of the anesthesia patient care team and will operate under the general direction of the Anesthesiology Team Lead. The role is to assist the licensed anesthesia provider in the acquisition, preparation and application of equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. The role, commits to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of healthcare colleagues and patients, adapts well and flexible to changing situations, and demonstrates effective communication and teamwork skills. Provides support in anesthesia for routine and complex surgical cases by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia. Responsibilities include but not limited to assisting the licensed anesthesia provider in various settings, performing duties under the direct supervision of the licensed anesthesia provider, providing support for routine surgical cases through preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia, and cleaning, sterilizing, disinfecting, stocking, ordering and maintaining the routine anesthesia equipment and supplies.

• Assoc. Degree/College Diploma Health Science - preferred

Experience

• No experience required - minimum
• 2 years Experience in a healthcare environment - preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Upon Hire minimum Require BCLS unless a higher level of certification is required
• Certified Anesthesia Technician - preferred American Society of Anesthesia Technician and Technologist (ASATT)
