Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD, is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia services and assist licensed providers.

You will maintain and calibrate anesthesia equipment, prepare monitoring devices, assist with patient transport, and explain procedures to patients. The position is full-time (40 hours/wk), evening schedule, with shift differential and non-exempt status under FLSA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous anesthesia technician experience preferred.
• Active BLS certification required.

As an Anesthesia Technician you will:

• Maintain anesthesia equipment (clean, sterilize, test, calibrate and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment).
• Keep records of equipment inspections.
• Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra and post anesthesia.
• Assist with transport of patients and laboratory specimens as necessary.
• Explain procedures and operating equipment’s to patients.
• Provide services to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia care provider.

Qualified candidates will possess:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous experience as anesthesia technician
• Certified Anesthesia Technician Preferred
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule:

• Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range:

$20.51 - $27.21
