Job summary

OSS Health is seeking an Anesthesia Tech to support the anesthesia team by maintaining equipment, stocking supplies, and assisting with sterile procedures. The role requires meticulous attention to sterile technique and reliable operation of OR equipment in a Monday–Friday schedule.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and experience with sterilization in an operating room; anesthesia tech experience is preferred.

• Two years of sterilization experience in OR preferred.
• One year as anesthesia tech preferred.
• Able to plan and organize work.
• Physically and emotionally capable; manual dexterity a must.

Responsibilities

• Reviews operating room schedules to determine equipment needs and prepares OR.
• Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots anesthesia department equipment per manuals.
• Stocks anesthesia supplies and drugs in all ORs.
• Cleans and disinfects anesthesia equipment after use.
• Maintains adequate supply of oxygen, nitrous oxide and air.
• Practices sterile techniques and assists with sterile procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Anesthesia Tech operates as a member of the anesthesia team by maintaining necessary equipment and supplies and assists with sterile procedures.

SCHEDULE:

Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews operating room schedules to determine equipment needs for special procedures, and prepares operating room accordingly.


• Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots all anesthesia department equipment, according to instructions and protocols of equipment manuals.


• Stocks anesthesia supplies and drugs in all operating rooms.


• Cleans and disinfects anesthesia equipment after use.


• Maintains adequate supply of medical oxygen, nitrous oxide and air in tanks.


• Practices good sterile techniques. Assists with sterile procedures.


• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• High School diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of two years of experience using sterilization techniques in an operating room highly preferred.


• A minimum of one year of experience as an anesthesia tech preferred.


• Must be able to plan and organize work.


• Must be physically and emotionally capable of performing position responsibilities. Manual dexterity a must.


• Must have basic computer skills.


• Must have professional and effective communication skills.


• Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs.
