Position Summary

The Anesthesia Technician assesses the needs of the anesthesia care provider while preparing the surgical patient for anesthesia. He/she routinely cares for and prepares anesthesia supplies and monitoring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Connecting patients to monitors
• Preparing IV set-up
• Preparing invasive monitoring line set-up
• Setting up an anesthesia machine
• Setting up non-invasive line monitoring room
• Setting up invasive line monitoring room
• Setting up continuous cardiac output monitoring
• Assisting in placement of invasive lines

Education

High school graduate or equivalent.

Certification & Experience

• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire
• Texas CNA or EMT preferred
• ACLS encouraged
• Certified Anesthesia Technician encouraged
• Successful completion of hospital orientation within 3 months of hire required
• Successful completion of the Customer Service course within 3 months of hire required
