Job summary

AdventHealth Denver is seeking an anesthesia technologist to assist anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, IV setup, and airway management in a busy OR.

You will troubleshoot equipment, ensure supplies are stocked, and support scheduling for emergent and urgent procedures. A training program in anesthesia technology and BLS are required, with AT/Cer. A.T.T. preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Knowledge of healthcare concepts and procedures in clinical settings.
• Basic aseptic/sterile technique and sterility of supplies.
• Must read, write and speak conversational English.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, IV and invasive lines, and airway management.
• Maintain and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment; ensure stock of inventory.
• Provide routine and emergency services for anesthesiologists; assist with scheduling for surgeries.
• Assist with patient preparation and draping for invasive monitoring and procedures.
• Set up operating room for cases, including laryngoscope, intubation equipment, IV solutions, tubing, and warming devices.

Job Description

• Assists anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, transporting, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management.
• Maintains and troubleshoots anesthesia equipment malfunctions. Ensures necessary equipment and supply inventory remain in stock.
• Provides routine and emergency services for anesthesiologists. Assists with schedule preparations, including emergent and urgent surgical procedures involving anesthesia.
• Assists anesthesia professional staff with preparation and draping of patients for invasive monitoring/procedures and anticipates needs for invasive monitor insertion and procedures.
• Sets up operating room for cases, including preparation of laryngoscope, intubation equipment, IV solution, tubing set‑up, and IV warming devices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
