Job summary

Methodist Hospital Northeast is seeking an Anesthesia Coordinator to organize anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures. You will prepare and clean anesthesia machines, anticipate the anesthetist's needs, and assist during procedures while training other anesthesia technicians.

The role involves ensuring equipment is properly maintained, collaborating with the circulating RN, and participating in equipment troubleshooting and maintenance scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year experience as an anesthesia technician in a hospital setting (as of Apr 7, 2011).
• Initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit.
• Preferred: Prior anesthesia technician experience in a hospital setting
• Preferred: Anesthesia technician certification (Cer.A.T.) from ASATT.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate availability and scheduling of anesthesia equipment and supplies; maintain par levels and stocked carts.
• Set up and prepare supplies/equipment aseptically for procedures; assist anesthetist.
• Collaborate with circulating nurse; assist with arterial/central lines and blocks; support induction of anesthesia.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and functioning; submit work orders for maintenance; store equipment after use.

Education

Anesthesia technician certification (Cer.A.T.) from ASATT
