Android Engineer

At TIDAL, a global music streaming platform, we are looking for an Android Engineer who thrives in product development and is passionate about building impactful features that reach millions of users. You’ll join our mobile team and work closely with product, design, iOS, and backend engineers in cross‑functional sprints.

You Will

• Ship high‑quality, durable, and well‑tested code at a fast, exciting pace
• Deliver features that reach millions of TIDAL customers around the world
• Build new functionality that provides value for music fans and empowers artists
• Collaborate with iOS engineers and backend developers to deliver innovative solutionsUse AI development tools to accelerate delivery and enhance code qualityParticipate in design and product discussions, shaping the future of TIDAL’s mobile experienceMentor and support teammates, fostering a culture of technical excellence and growthWrite and maintain automated tests to ensure product reliability

You Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, plus ~5 years of relevant industry experience
• Understanding of Android architecture patterns, lifecycle management, and performance optimization
• Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well‑structured Kotlin code
• Experience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools in your workflow
• Commitment to continuous improvement of yourself, your team, and our codebase
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
• Experience mentoring and growing other engineers
• Passion for music and creating tools that support artists and fans

Technologies We Use and Teach

• Kotlin for Android, Swift and Objective‑C for iOS (we collaborate closely across platforms)
• Modern Android frameworks and libraries (Jetpack, Coroutines, etc.)
• Comprehensive testing strategies: unit tests, snapshot tests, and integration tests
• AI‑powered developer tools like Goose, Cursor, and Claude Code to accelerate development and innovation
• CI/CD pipelines, feature flagging, and modern development practices

Salary and Location

Pay zones are determined by U.S. location:
Zone A: $180,000 – $270,000
Zone B: $171,000 – $256,600
Zone C: $162,000 – $243,000
Zone D: $153,000 – $229,600
