Job summary

RemoteConnect in Akron is seeking an experienced Android Developer to design, build, and maintain high quality mobile applications for our clients. You will focus on Android development and integrate with back-end services.

Collaborate with design and development teams, test code, and optimize performance. A strong grasp of Java or Kotlin, RESTful APIs, and modern mobile lifecycles is required. Experience with third-party libraries, Git version control, and Firebase is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven Android development experience.
• Proficient in Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android apps to back-end services.
• Knowledge of the full mobile development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
• Work with outside data sources and APIs.
• Unit-test code for robustness including edge cases usability and general reliability.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
