Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Team Lead for its Android app and core product work. This is a hands-on leadership role with code ownership from decision through release, including reviewing PRs and guiding architecture.

You'll own major features end to end, improve reliability, unblock the team, and ensure the team’s work ships fast with high quality. Speechify operates a 100% distributed team with no office and remote collaboration across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, working closely with our design team — from the decision through to release.
• Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback beyond approval.
• Unblock the team when someone is stuck and investigate solutions.
• Identify when a component should be adopted by the whole team and drive the change.
• Keep shared components well-documented, tested, and easy to reuse.
• Know when to change how the team works and drive it forward.
• Reduce manual steps to achieve a correct release.
• Address recurring problems by improving the underlying setup or process.
• Shift verification left by increasing automation and test coverage.
