Job summary

Global Connect Technologies is seeking a senior Android audio software engineer to lead hands-on development across the Android Audio Framework, audio HAL integration, and audio routing. You will work within the AOSP environment to integrate Bluetooth audio profiles and contribute to automotive-grade audio subsystems.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, Java/Kotlin, and hands-on experience with ALSA/tinyALSA, as well as knowledge of Linux kernel audio drivers and SoC integration for

• Strong experience with Android Audio Framework and related components.

• Experience with Bluetooth audio profiles (A2DP/HFP) integration on Android.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field.

Job description

• 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience working on audio software
• Strong experience with Android Audio Framework (AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyManager, AudioFlinger Mixer)
• Strong experience with Audio HAL development/integration (audio HAL v5/v7, or newer AIDL-based HAL)
• Proven experience with AAOS-specific audio components: Car Audio Manager, car_audio_configuration.xml, multi-zone audio, audio focus and ducking
• Proficient in C/C++ and Java/Kotlin
• Solid understanding of ALSA / tinyALSA, audio routing, and mixer controls (tinymix/tinyplay)
• Experience building and debugging within the AOSP source tree and build system (Soong/Make)
• Experience with Bluetooth audio profiles (A2DP/HFP) integration on Android
• Strong understanding of Linux kernel audio drivers (ASoC) and their interaction with user-space audio HAL
• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

NICE TO HAVE (OPTIONAL)

• Experience with automotive SoC platforms (Qualcomm SA8155/SA8195, NXP, TI Jacinto)
