KX News (KXNET) in Bismarck, North Dakota is seeking an Anchor/MMJ for Good Day Dakota, our weekday morning show. The candidate will anchor live broadcasts with energy, conduct interviews, and create engaging content across platforms.

The Multimedia Journalist will shoot, report, write, voice, edit, and feed news content, ensuring accuracy and compelling storytelling for viewers online and on-air. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role in a leading local media group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field preferred.
• Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience anchoring and reporting on live broadcasts preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

KX News (KXNET) in beautiful Bismarck, North Dakota is accepting applications for an Anchor/MMJ on Good Day Dakota, our weekday morning newscast.

The ideal candidate can anchor a live morning show with energy, turn impactful hard news stories, and create engaging content for streaming and social.

The Multimedia Journalist produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits, and feeds news content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Anchors Good Day Dakota weekday morning newscasts with energy and authority
• Conducts live in‑studio and field interviews with newsmakers and community guests
• Reports factual and fair daily news stories for broadcast
• Arranges interviews with people who can provide information or engaging content for streaming shows
• Reviews copy and corrects errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines
• Researches and analyzes background information related to news stories to provide complete and accurate information
• Pitches at least three relevant local news stories per shift to news managers and producers
• Shoots and edits news events and news reports, as well as occasional live shots
• Ensures all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
• Writes stories for the web and other eMedia platforms
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience preferred
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to ad lib when required
• Experience in news anchoring and reporting
• Superior on‑air presence
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Flexibility to work early morning hours and any shift as news demands

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The Multimedia Journalist must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face‑to‑face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co‑workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
• In addition, the Multimedia Journalist must be able to lift, set up, and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
