Job summary

Berkel & Company Contractors, Inc is seeking an experienced drill rig operator for on-site work across the DC/MD region. The role requires knowledge of duplex, air/fluid flushing, and auger drilling, with emphasis on safety and meeting tight deadlines.

Preferred candidates will have experience with grouted tiebacks, micro piles, and other shoring methods, plus a background in testing anchors and piles. Travel to various sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience operating hydraulic drill rigs (Klemm, Comacchio).
• Forklift, skid steer, or mini excavator experience preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints, site layout, anchor or pile testing.
• Welding or metalworking skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining drilling equipment and tooling.
• Filling out detailed daily rig reports.
• Ensuring proper drilling procedure is followed.
• Communicate issues, and problems, and successes on a daily basis.
• Signal equipment operators and safely move equipment through the jobsite.
• Overseeing safety of all personnel working around drill rig.
• Assist Superintendent with jobsite layout.
• Diagnosing mechanical and equipment related issues.
