Job summary

Covista is seeking part-time Anatomy & Physiology instructors to teach an I-IV lab sequence on-site in Charlotte, NC. The role involves delivering a four-course sequence with a focus on body systems, preparing up-to-date materials, and using online discussions and assignments to enhance learning.

Responsibilities include developing syllabi, organizing materials, maintaining clear course expectations, and providing timely feedback.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required for all faculty positions (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching).
• Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
• Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide students with an approved Covista syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, including the terminal course objectives.
• Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials.
• Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
• Model effective oral and written communication that engages students, provides clarity, and improves student learning.
• Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight distribution of various evaluation categories.
• Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
• Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Anatomy & Physiology Faculty (part-time)

We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education.

We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate BSN nursing students on-site in Charlotte, NC.

Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab

This is a four-course sequence in which human anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach. Coursework emphasizes interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization.

• Basic anatomical and directional terminology, muscle tissues, fundamental concepts and principles of cell biology, history and the integumentary and skeletal systems
• Fundamental concepts and principles of the muscular and nervous systems, special senses and the endocrine system
• Cardiovascular, immune and respiratory systems
• Digestive, urinary and reproductive systems

Courses may meet once per week or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction in lab and classroom is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
