This overnight shift from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00pm–5:30am emphasizes staff supervision, training, performance evaluations, and continuous process improvement to support patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical/physical/biological sciences with relevant coursework/experience.
• Master's degree with 4+ years lab experience, incl. 2+ years under doctoral-level direction.
• 6+ years in high-complexity testing; HT/HTL ASCP preferred.
• National HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification; state licenses as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Anatomic Pathology lab and supervise technical staff.
• Lead quality control/assurance programs; ensure regulatory compliance and document corrective actions.

Overview

NeoGenomics is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Supervisor based out of our lab in Aliso Viejo, CA who wants to continue to learn and help the company grow. Shift: Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00pm-5:30am overnight (subject to change based on business needs).

Position Summary

The Anatomic Pathology Supervisor has overall responsibility for planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all technical and/or operational activities and personnel in the Anatomic Pathology department. Responsible for quality assurance, safety and accreditation requirements in the laboratory and oversees projects delegated by the Director of Laboratory Operations or Medical Laboratory Director.

Core Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Anatomic Pathology laboratory and supervision of the technical and support staff
• Initiates and monitors quality control and quality assurance programs for the laboratory; assures compliance with regulations; monitors all quality metrics and ensures corrective actions are documented and implemented
• Sets standards, policies, and guidelines for efficient management of the Anatomic Pathology laboratory
• Ensures staff is trained and compliant with Standard Operating Procedures and competency checklists
• Oversees, plans, and prepares for inspections
• Ensures departmental Standard Operating Procedures accurately reflect current processes and updates as needed
• Sets department objectives and performance goals; monitors personnel and resource utilization and adjusts staffing to achieve goals
• Drives personnel management: conducts selection interviews, hires, trains, coaches, and develops employees
• Conducts performance appraisals, documents deficiencies, develops improvement plans, and counsels employees
• Monitors laboratory work performance to determine staff resources utilization; reviews monthly work statistics and budget reports; establishes work standards and adjusts staffing as needed
• Ensures a safe working environment and safe work practices
• Maintains advanced knowledge of general and specialty requirements within CAP/CLIA/NYS institutions
• Accountable for the operation of a 24-hour function, including responding to emergencies and attendance at meetings outside of regular hours as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited college or university in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with completion of a relevant 1-year course/experience, or equivalent
• Master of Arts or Master of Science in a chemical, physical, or biological science with at least four years of pertinent laboratory experience, including at least two years in a clinical laboratory under doctoral-level direction
• Six or more years in high-complexity testing preferred in histology; experience as HTL III or Lead Histotechnologist preferred
• Nationally: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification
• Florida: Current state supervisor license and state technologist license to perform laboratory testing
