Job summary

UF Health Leesburg Hospital is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Assistant to support laboratory operations in Leesburg, FL. Under supervision of the Laboratory Director, Pathologist, and Histology Manager, the role involves accessioning surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimens and providing excellent service to physicians and staff.

Requirements include High School/GED and 1–3 years of related experience, with familiarity in medical terminology and ICD-9/10 and CPT codes.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ related experience.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Familiarity with ICD-9/10 and CPT codes.

Responsibilities

• Computer accessioning of surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimens in Cerner, Star, Copia
• Exceptional customer service with outside physicians’ offices and medical staff
• Fax and scan documents
• Schedule frozen section procedures
• Monitor, maintain, and fill supply orders for AP clients
• Order specimen pick-ups and send-outs with lab couriers
• Cytology processing, when needed
