Job summary

University of California, San Francisco (SFVAHCS) seeks an Anatomic Pathologist for a full-time faculty appointment at UCSF in a combined clinical service, teaching and research role in surgical pathology, cytopathology and autopsy service.

Qualified candidates must hold an MD, be CA licensed, and be board certified (or eligible) in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology. Fellowship training and subspecialty interests are highly valued.

Qualifications

• MD (or equivalent) degree and California license, Board Certified (or eligible) in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology preferred; subspecialty fellowships (GI/HPB, Cytopathology) preferred.
• Strong research Publications, teaching experience, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Sign-out responsibilities in cytopathology, surgical pathology, autopsy, and frozen sections.
• Inpatient/outpatient FNA performance; rapid on-site adequacy assessments.
• Night and weekend call; tumor boards and interdepartmental conferences.
• Teaching trainees, participating in research and quality improvement activities; develop/modify SOPs and ensure accreditation compliance.
• Champion/lead LIS modernization and Digital Pathology initiatives as opportunities arise.
