Job summary

Tailscale is seeking an Analytics Engineer to build reliable, trusted data models and scalable data pipelines. You will collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Sales, and other teams to deliver timely data solutions across the full data lifecycle, from ingestion to visualization, in a remote-first environment.

You will design and maintain production-grade dbt models, ensure data accuracy, and tackle complex data challenges with pragmatic, long-term thinking in a fast-moving, inclusive company.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining production-grade data models and pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to work with complex datasets and schemas.
• High attention to detail and data validation.
• Ability to manage time and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Dive into complex systems and manual workflows to understand data constraints.
• Design and maintain production-grade dbt models (e.g., ARR, revenue recognition).
• Work across the full data pipeline from ingestion to visualization.
• Balance quick fixes with long-term scalable design.
• Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, and Sales to deliver data solutions.
