Home Chef in Chicago is seeking an Analytics Engineer II to lead end-to-end data value chain, from capturing data to modeling and building analytics on top of it. This role aligns with a specific business department and serves as a subject matter expert within the analytics team.

You will convert business requests into code, build ingestion and transformation jobs, monitor performance, ensure data quality, and enable self-serve reporting with Looker for business teams. Some travel not required.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a related field.
• Multiple years of experience with data modeling and database performance.
• Ability to build complex data transformations.
• Strong problem-solving to identify root causes.
• Ability to influence business stakeholders toward data-driven decisions.
• Highly organized in both work and code.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Willingness to use AI tools in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Convert business requests into code and data frameworks.
• Build ingestion, cleaning, and transformation jobs for a data warehouse.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines.
• Ensure data quality and cleanliness across the pipeline.
• Provide self-serve reporting using Looker for business teams.
• Support non-technical teams with advanced analytics as needed.
• Automate manual data processes as appropriate.
