Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Chicago or Peoria is seeking an Analytics Engineering professional to help develop data-driven decisions for One Funnel and OneSite through a robust data infrastructure.

You will design and maintain data pipelines on AWS using MWAA Airflow and Snowflake, implement CI/CD workflows, and collaborate across teams to ensure scalable, reliable data systems that power business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience applying SQL and Python to solve business challenges.
• Working knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, MWAA Airflow, S3, EC2).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Git Actions, or equivalent).
• Experience with data formats such as JSON or XML and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure using AWS Services, MWAA Airflow, Snowflake, GIT and Azure DevOps CD-CI pipelines.
• Work with other team members to ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of our data systems

Job Summary:

Join the Analytics Engineering team of Cat Digital and perform analytical tasks and initiatives on One Funnel and OneSite programs with a focus on development and support of data-driven business decisions.

What You Will Do:

What You Will Have:

• Analytical Thinking: Working knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Query and Database Access Tools: Working knowledge of data management systems; ability to use, support and access facilities for searching, extracting and formatting data for further use.
• Requirements Analysis: Working knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

Considerations for Top Candidates:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Working experience applying SQL and Python (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, etc.) programming to solve business challenges.
• Working knowledge with cloud technologies (AWS, MWAA Airflow, S3, EC2, etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD Pipelines (Azure DevOps, Git Actions, or equivalent)
• Experience with data structure (JSON, XML, or equivalent)Experience with automated testing (Regression tests)
• In-depth technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field
• Working experience with version control / repositories such as GitHubExperience operating in an Agile environment
• Must demonstrate strong initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with Azure DevOps, AWS Cloud, Managed Warehouse for Apache Airflow (MWAA), Github, Snowflake/Snowpark pipelines, SQL, Python, AI/ML, Microsoft Office, Power App Tools, Power BI, and automation capabilities.

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $144,960.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
