Job summary

Ingevity in North Charleston, SC, is seeking an Analytical Instrument Technician to provide comprehensive analytical equipment support to our QC, technical, and business development groups.

You will maintain preventive and routine maintenance, support QC test methods, develop plant and lab instrumentation, and deliver technical reports to the support team while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in chemistry or chemical engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years in industrial quality or analytical testing.
• Experience with GC, GPC, HPLC and spectroscopy (IR, NMR).
• Ability to train others in the use of analytical equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical instrument technical support for QC, acting as point person for preventive maintenance and routine maintenance, and oversee repairs by vendors.
• Perform quality reviews and support the development of QC test methods.
• Develop and support plant and lab instrumentation to improve quality.
• Use strong communication to prepare and deliver technical reports to Ingevity's support team.
• Flourish in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects and prioritizing impact.
• Support safety program across all aspects of the job.
