• Strong computer and digital skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Analytical Development Scientists with method development, stability testing, and method validation activities.
• Participate in the design and execution of experiments, data generation, and interpretation of results.
• Conduct hands-on laboratory work and analytical development activities.
• Develop and perform assay, related compounds, and dissolution testing of APIs and excipients to characterize materials.
• Develop and conduct testing methods for various formulations, including solid dosage forms, liquids, topicals, and gummies.
• Analyze experimental data and interpret results for presentation within Analytical Development and cross-functional teams.
• Leverage literature reviews, existing monographs, and chromatography modeling programs to support efficient method development.
• Design and execute experimental stability studies to support formulation decision-making.
• Interact regularly with Formulation Development, Analytical Development, Site Operations, and Packaging teams.

Analytical Development Co-Op

POSITION PURPOSE

This position offers an exciting opportunity to support Analytical Development Scientists in method development, stability testing, and method validation activities. The successful candidate will participate in experimental design, laboratory testing, data generation, and data interpretation while supporting the development and characterization of APIs, excipients, and pharmaceutical formulations. Through hands-on laboratory work and collaboration with cross-functional teams, this role provides valuable experience in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical development, and formulation support.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support Analytical Development Scientists with method development, stability testing, and method validation activities;
• Participate in the design and execution of experiments, data generation, and interpretation of results;

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required:

• Currently pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field;
• Ability to commit to a six-month Co-op assignment;
• Hands-on laboratory experience, including data analysis and interpretation;
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently on multiple projects with aggressive timelines;
• Strong computer and digital skills, including Microsoft Office applications;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with chromatography and related analytical instrumentation;
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and data analysis;
• Hands-on laboratory experience in a research or development environment;
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn;
• Strong creative problem-solving and critical-thinking skills;
• Familiarity with DOE software, modeling, and simulation tools.

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
