Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled laboratory analyst to conduct comprehensive chemical analyses of water and hydrocarbon samples, ensuring adherence to GMP and QA/QC standards. You will issue COAs to internal and external customers and maintain instrument performance across the lab.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, verifying test integrity, and developing SOPs while training technicians and ensuring global SOP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry or Biology, with 16+ hours of chemistry and 6 hours of lab courses.
• At least 2 years of chemical analysis experience in refinery, manufacturing, or lab.
• Understanding of chemical substances' composition, properties and reactions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Team-oriented with good communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficient in LIMS software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Stable employment history.
• Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive chemical analysis of water, petroleum, gasoline, solvents and other compounds using standard tests.
• Ensure laboratory operations adhere to good laboratory practice and quality standards.
• Record, analyze, and summarize results; issue COAs to customers.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate instruments; maintain equipment functionality.
• Verify questionable tests and recommend corrections.
• Write and review SOPs; train technicians; ensure SOP compliance.
• Monitor Statistical Quality Control data for compliance.
• Develop lab procedures and act as SME for global SOPs.
