Job summary

First Solar is seeking an analytical chemist to perform routine analyses in support of recycling, wastewater, and material production. You will operate ICP OES or MS instruments, prepare samples, manage data, and maintain high safety and data-quality standards.

Qualifications include an associate degree in chemistry (BA/BS preferred) and 3+ years in an analytical lab, with experience in polymers, thermal analysis, and wet chemistry. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BA/BS in chemistry preferred.
• 3 years’ experience in an analytical laboratory environment or equivalent.
• Coursework in analytical chemistry, polymers, and inorganic or solid-state chemistry preferred.
• Experience in polymer analysis, thermal analysis, and wet chemistry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analyses under defined methods.
• Operate and maintain ICP OES and/or MS instrumentation.
• Keep complete and accurate records of laboratory activities and data management.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
• Assist with development of new analytical methods and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste and machinery safety.
