Job summary

Autoliv in Utah is seeking an Analytical Chemist to develop and execute analytical methodologies for energetic formulations, interpret data, and ensure quality and safety.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Chemistry, 2–10 years of lab experience, and hands-on expertise with DSC, TGA, XRD, FTIR, ICP, GC, and calorimetry; travel occasionally may be required.

You will work with cross-functional teams to scale laboratory findings into manufacturing and uphold safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry with Analytical Chemistry focus.
• 2–10 years laboratory experience.
• Hands-on with DSC, TGA, XRD, FTIR, ICP, GC, calorimetry, particle size analysis.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; DOE desirable.
• Ability to work safely with energetic materials; occasional travel; US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing of energetic materials and related substances.
• Develop, validate, and document analytical methods and lab procedures.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and qualify analytical instrumentation.
• Support R&D by designing experiments and scaling findings to manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while promoting continuous improvement.
