Job summary

Capsum in Austin, TX is seeking an Analytical Chemist in a full-time role to develop and transfer analytical methods and analyze bulk, finished goods and raw materials to ensure conformity with specifications.

The role involves testing samples across materials, performing daily standardizations, maintaining meticulous records, and contributing to SOPs, validation and transfer activities using FTIR, UPLC/HPLC, UV/Vis and related techniques in a GMP/GLP environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related scientific discipline with 2–3 years of relevant quality control experience.
• Experience with Empower software preferred.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of samples supporting incoming raw materials, in-process production and finished goods.
• Perform daily standardizations and equipment performance checks.
• Maintain records and data associated with testing.
• Responsible for chemical ordering, storing, using, and disposing of chemicals.
• Create, revise, review SOPs, test methods, forms, protocols, reports and other documents related to compliant product testing.
• Method Development, Validation, Verification and Transfer activities according to written protocols.
• Utilize analytical instrumentation such as FTIR, UPLC/HPLC, UV/VIS, and has a good scientific understanding of these techniques.
• Perform instrument troubleshooting and preventive maintenance as needed.
• Perform all activities in compliance with GLP/cGMP requirements.

The Analytical Chemist is responsible for method development/transfer as well as analysis of bulk, finished goods and raw materials to ensure their conformity to defined specifications and standards.
