Job summary

Colonial Chemical is seeking an analytical chemist to support R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory teams by developing and executing methods to advance analytical capabilities. The role also involves maintaining chromatographic instruments within R&D and Quality departments to ensure reliable data and compliant processes.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Chemistry or Biochemistry and at least two years of laboratory experience, with surfactant chemistry being a plus.

• 2 years' experience in a chemical laboratory.
• Surfactant chemistry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory groups.
• Develop methods based on customer/regulatory feedback and support method transfer with Quality.
• Perform maintenance on chromatographic analytical equipment (HPLC, GC, GPC).
• Develop and execute a maintenance plan for chromatographic equipment in R&D and Quality.
• Collaborate with personnel from multiple departments and address technical issues with customers.

Summary/Objective:

Supports R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory by analyzing products and developing methods to advance Colonial Chemical's analytical capabilities. Also, responsible for developing and executing a preventative maintenance plan for the all chromatographic instruments within R&D and the Quality departments.

Essential Functions

• Provide analytical support for the R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory groups
• Develop methods based on feedback from customers and/or regulatory as needed. Work with the Quality department on method transfer and training.
• Perform all maintenance on chromatographic analytical equipment
• Develop and execute a maintenance plan for the HPLC, GC, GPC and other chromatographic analytical equipment for both the R&D and Quality departments.
• Be able to work and communicate effectively with personnel from multiple departments.
• Interact with sales representatives and customers to address technical issues and explore innovations
• Support other quality related initiatives as assigned by your supervisor.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry
• 2 years' experience in a chemical laboratory
• Surfactant chemistry a plus
