Ulta Beauty, Inc. is seeking an Analyst, Strategic Analytics to transform large data assets into actionable business insights. You will support Go to Market areas in Marketing, Digital, and Merchandising by producing reports, dashboards, and concise presentations for cross-functional stakeholders.

The role emphasizes SQL, Python, and data visualization with collaboration across teams and senior leadership. Strong communication and project management are essential for timely delivery.

Competenze

• 2+ years of analytics/data mining experience with client-facing delivery.
• Internships or school projects with analytics acceptable for recent grads.
• BA/BS in Business Analytics, Mathematics, CS, Statistics, Data Science or related field; Master’s a plus.
• Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and MS Excel/PowerPoint; Python or R a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication; able to translate complex ideas.

THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Analyst, Strategic Analytics role contributes to Ulta’s business strategy by leveraging data to communicate clear insights that influence business decisions made across multiple internal teams. Our team’s mission is to provide Ulta Beauty with a distinct competitive advantage by mining our rich data assets to inform strategic and tactical business decisions. In this role, you will utilize data mining and analytical capabilities to support the analysis and reporting needs for our Go to Market areas of Marketing, Digital, and Merchandising departments. The Analyst will also act as a subject matter expert, communicating the value and tackling the application of innovative analytical approaches for various use cases with multiple stakeholders across Ulta Beauty.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THIS BY:

• Manipulate and analyze data from Ulta’s big data environment, including customer profile info, campaign response, and transaction data, using tools such as SQL and Python.
• Design, program, generate and automate concise reports/analyses that track business performance.
• Design and implement intuitive dashboards and visualizations that will help various product teams and other stakeholders make better business decisions.
• Distill data into clear, concise, and business friendly presentations that deliver insights that lead to actions and deliver those presentations to various levels of audiences including C-suite executives.
• Use a variety of analytic techniques including advanced statistics to conduct ad hoc analyses to answer strategic business questions raised by internal stakeholders
• Continually look for ways to improve analytics processes and deliverables
• Ensure data integrity by leveraging proven methodologies, including data reconciliation, data integration and data audits.
• Effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously, demonstrating strong business acumen to prioritize high-impact initiatives, proactively manage timelines and stakeholder expectations, and consistently deliver high-quality work on time.
• Develop a strong partnership and collaborate with Ulta Beauty business partners, performing as a team member who consults on how to attain the business goals by leveraging customer data and insights.
• Actively listen to the needs of others (guests, partners, co-workers) to understand and provide accurate information or solutions.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

• Ideally, 2+ years of experience in analytics/data mining and presenting those results to the client/business partner.
• Recent college graduates with some relevant experience via internships/school courses and projects will also be considered; Such candidates must demonstrate a record of high academic achievement and an eagerness to learn
• BA/BS degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related analytical degree or experience. Masters a plus.
• Proven command of SQL, relational databases, and MS Excel/PowerPoint. Other data querying and analysis languages such as Python, R a plus
• Experience with data visualization tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - must be able to communicate complex ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
• Capable of working in a dynamic environment, handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing appropriately and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Energetic and self-motivated - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations.

The pay range for this position is $66,200.00 - $95,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
