Role Overview

CM Capital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analyst/Sr. Analyst to join its Real Estate team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role within a lean, entrepreneurial team managing a diversified real estate portfolio comprised primarily of office and multifamily assets. The portfolio includes directly owned properties as well as investments held through partnerships and fund structures.

The position will work with the VP of Real Estate to manage existing investments. Responsibilities include assisting with quantitative and qualitative analysis, market research, maintaining and building financial models in Argus and Excel, supporting portfolio reporting, and assisting ad hoc tasks on invoicing and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analyses of performance against budgets and benchmarks utilizing traditional asset management tools including discounted cash flow analyses, primarily in Argus and Excel.
• Analyze new and revised leases to include rates, length of leases, tenant improvement allowances and other negotiable terms and obtain internal approvals
• Perform special projects as directed, including acquisition, divestment, repositioning, redevelopment, financing, and capital improvements
• Build and maintain the portfolio management database in Argus
• Prepare and review real estate reports for weekly and monthly meetings
• Assist in evaluating portfolio with valuation, tax liabilities, seismic risks, diversification, liquidity, debt maturity, and return analysis
• Direct annual property budget process
• Assist with audit process for the real estate portfolio
• Assist on depreciation and amortization schedule
• Willingness to support team on administrative tasks

Professional Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of commercial real estate related experience including quantitative analyses and financial modeling
• Advanced Excel skills, including ability to build and audit financial models independently; hands-on Argus experience strongly preferred (cash flow modeling, valuation, lease abstraction); proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
• Marked interest in real estate, and real estate investing
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; an effective collaborator and team player with the confidence and polish to present to senior leadership
• High attention to detail and thoroughness
• Focused and flexible; effectively navigates changing priorities
• Strong team player
• Must be a self-starter – able to take initiative, work independently with limited direction and drive tasks to completion
• Impeccable character and professionalism with high ethical and quality standards

• CMC currently operates a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week in the office. Lunch is provided each day.
• The starting base range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 annually, not including a performance-based annual incentive award opportunity. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors including experience, education, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
