Job summary

Kroll is seeking a Portfolio Valuation Analyst in the Dallas area. The role focuses on valuation of illiquid investments for clients such as private equity and hedge funds.

You will join a team that designs models and conducts analyses to support client engagements. Ideal candidates have a Finance/Accounting background with 2–3 years of post‑college experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with Bloomberg/S&P Capital IQ.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration (with concentration in Accounting or Finance), Management (with concentration in Accounting or Finance), Engineering (with Accounting/Finance courses) or MBA.
  • Graduation date between December 2022 and December 2025.
  • GPA of 3.2.
  • Experience in constructing/reviewing valuation models including DCF, market approach, commodity contracts/forecasts, contingent claim analysis.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide valuation advisory services to illiquid investments for private equity, hedge funds, BDCs, pensions and endowments.
  • Design financial models for DCF, market multiple, market transaction and option pricing analyses.
  • Perform valuation analyses on illiquid investments across industries/geographies.
  • Interview clients to gather data and information for engagements.
  • Build and maintain client relationships with management.
  • Report and present analyses and conclusions in written reports.
  • Attend industry events to broaden knowledge in the alternative asset industry.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Valuation Analysts will provide a range of valuation advisory services specifically to the alternative investment community including private equity and hedge funds, business development companies, pensions and endowments, in connection with our assisting those clients with valuation issues surrounding their alternative investment positions.
  • Designing financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction and option pricing analyses
  • Performing valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
  • Assisting team with Interviewing clients, including face‑to‑face meetings, to gather data and information pertinent to the engagement
  • Working with management in building and maintaining client relationships
  • Reporting and presenting analyses and conclusions including written reports
  • Attending relevant industry events to broaden your knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration (with a concentration in Accounting or Finance), Management (with a concentration in Accounting or Finance), Engineering (with a minimum of four Junior and/or Senior level courses in Accounting, Economics or Finance) or MBA from an accredited college or university within the last 3 years.
  • Graduation date between December 2022 and December 2025
  • GPA of 3.2
  • An understanding and preferred professional experience in constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including DCF, marker approach, commodity contracts/forecasts and other contingent claim analysis
  • Consensus driven and team focused with strong analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills that help represent diverse communities
  • Openness to change, attention to detail, ability to manage time and workflow & focus on quality work
  • Risk tolerant and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment
  • Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of market Data sources including Bloomberg and S&P Capital IQ
