Patient Relations Manager

Role Description

Oak Street Health uses a team-based approach to provide outstanding patient care. The Service Team builds individual relationships with patients and ensures they are happy with their experience. Patient Relations Managers (PRMs) are the insurance experts at each clinic, advocating for patients by helping them navigate insurance options and bills, and serving as a resource for the care and outreach teams regarding Medicare and eligibility. PRMs play a key role during Open Enrollment, ensuring patients are fully informed of their Medicare options.

Core Responsibilities

• Learn the intricacies of Medicare and use this knowledge to assist patients with insurance issues.
• Serve as the internal resource for insurance questions for physicians and staff.
• Help patients navigate and resolve medical bills inside and outside Oak Street Health.
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with patients to advise them on healthcare coverage.
• Manage welcome visits and orientation processes for new patients.
• Assist patients in applying for public benefits, such as Public Aid, free phones, and Extra Help for prescription drugs.
• Support the clinic management team with operational activities, including scheduling and billing.
• Provide exceptional customer service to create a matched patient experience.
• Foster patient engagement through design and execution of events, including center tours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Competitive base pay: $21.10 – $40.90 per hour (pay may vary by experience, education, and location).
