Job summary

VARITE INC. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Sr. Engineer 2 Network to design and implement complex network solutions, including scripting, testing, and documentation. The role involves handling configuration changes, reviews, and supporting the operations team to ensure reliable delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing large-scale production network solutions.
• Master's degree preferred; airline industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write and engineer network device configuration scripts with change documentation.
• Implement network changes during appropriate change windows (after hours).
• Review and provide feedback on changes and engineering of other engineers.
• Establish tests for applications/devices to quantify performance and optimization steps.
• Serve as second-tier support for network operations; participate in on-call rotation.
• Translate business needs into actionable deliverables; manage small/medium data network projects.
• Create detailed network designs (physical and logical) to meet business objectives.
• Provide guidance on data, voice, and mobility network capabilities for solutions.

Job Description:

• Write/engineer network device configuration scripts with associated change documentation to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Implement network changes during appropriate change windows (after hours)
• Review and provide feedback on change documentation/engineering of other engineers.
• Establish processes to test applications and devices before planned network deployment to quantify their performance and recommend steps to ensure they are optimized.
• Serve as second-tier support for network operations team when needed.
• Participate in on-call support escalation rotation
• Translate business needs into actionable deliverables.
• Manage small/medium internal data network projects.
• Create detailed network designs that meet the customer requirements (including physical and logical) of complex network systems to meet the functional objectives of the business.
• Serve as a technical resource providing guidance and advice to associates on data, voice, and mobile network capabilities for utilizing the full capability of technology in designing effective solutions.

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments
