Job summary

Nutrien is seeking an IT Analyst in Aurora to maintain and support information systems and collaborate with IT peers to implement new initiatives. The role includes working with Cisco/Meraki wireless, networking equipment, and enterprise IT environments in industrial settings.

Qualifications

  • Related technical or college certificate (two-year program) or three years of related practical experience in IT field, or a four-year IT degree.
  • Experience with Cisco & Meraki wireless solutions.
  • Knowledge of Networking and Wireless standards.
  • High-level understanding of dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
  • Ability to analyze networking problems and determine remediation steps.
  • Practical experience in large-scale networking engineering and operations preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication required with employees and outside vendors.
  • Ability to handle multiple duties simultaneously and with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Nutrien safety, health, and environmental practices from both a company and site-specific perspective.
  • Communicate with end users at different levels of technical expertise and correctly identify the technical issues and corrective actions required.
  • Help identify solutions for continuous improvement to IT services and/or processes.
  • Maintain the departmental inventory system and keep network and PC support supply needs fulfilled.
  • Research, implement, and test new technology independently or as part of a project group.
  • Create and update client assistance and technical documentation.
  • Provide basic workstation, server, network, and phone system administration and monitoring as needed in a backup capacity.
  • Complete user requests through the IT ticketing system (ServiceNow).
  • Perform hardware and software installation, inventory, and licensing.
  • Install network hardware in industrial settings, including plant and mining environments, such as multiple flights of stairs, mining equipment, and draglines.
  • Be part of the team that designs, implements, improves, and supports a global network environment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
  • Perform problem isolation and resolution of network issues.
  • Act as a Tier 3 escalation contact for network issues.
  • Collaborate with network architects on business-critical projects and initiatives to optimize the enterprise network.
  • Maintain all local area network infrastructure at assigned Nutrien sites, including fiber optic cable, CAT6, indoor and outdoor wireless, and private LTE.

Reporting to the Manager, IT, Nitrogen & Phosphate, the IT Analyst is responsible for maintaining and supporting our information systems andtechnology, in addition to collaborating in the development of new initiatives from the business and North American based IT peers. The ITAnalyst will collaborate with local and Enterprise IT teams to maintain systems and satisfy business requests in a timely manner, such that ouremployees are able to do their jobs effectively and efficiently. This contributes to the productivity of our people, which in turn supports ourbusiness.

Consideration will be given to applicants with proven experience with designing/implementing/supporting Cisco networks and/or MicrosoftWindows and VMware virtual server environments.

What You'll Do:
