Job summary

FIS in Suwanee, GA is seeking an experienced Data Center Infrastructure specialist to support buildouts, circuit cutovers, and hardware migrations in our US data centers. The role focuses on ensuring availability, documenting infrastructure, and coordinating with facilities for redundancy and cooling.

Ideal candidates have enterprise data center exposure, strong cabling knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite. On-site role with potential overtime and weekend support.

Responsibilities

About the position

Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) personnel are critical to the success and support of our production computing environment at FIS/TIS. We are in a staff shortage situation in 2026 due to one of our Senior Technicians in our US data centers resigning and need immediate assistance with data center buildouts, client circuit cutovers, Distributed hardware and Network migration, hardware/trunk installation, and support/documentation of all equipment.

What you will be doing

Supports data center availability and reliability requirements, identifies and eliminates sources of risk to increase availability of critical IT systems. Identify interdependencies between facility and IT infrastructures and collaborate with facility management to mitigate gaps in system redundancy.

Ensure efficient power is distributed and proper ventilation and cooling within space. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of data center environmental and infrastructure best practices. Creates and maintains appropriate infrastructure and connectivity documentation within applications such as MS Excel, MS Visio or Lucid, Computer-aided Design (CAD) applications, and the Google Suite of products.

Designs and documents complex infrastructure connectivity plans for multiple data centers, MMR or connectivity rooms, and IBM Mainframe and PSeries and/or distributed technology servers to various client and/or company owned systems, while accounting for design aspects such as efficient cabling routes (BICSI standards), power and/or HVAC availability/additional requirements.

Completes the installation of infrastructure equipment, such as network racks, cabinets, networking equipment, and completes cabling runs to include terminating cabling to the various types of system components.
