SUMMARY

The Analyst I - Total Rewards will administer and coordinate the daily activities and maintenance related to the administration of select US Benefits programs for employees of Westlake Corporation ("the Company"). This position serves as a contact person for benefits related tasks, including employee inquiries, support of local HR business partners and vendor support. Uses independent judgment and decision making to evaluate and make recommendations about benefit plan administration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintains specific knowledge of the Company's health and welfare benefit plans and the processes necessary to administer the plans, and develops deep subject matter expertise for the benefit plans for which he/she is responsible
  • Responsible for the daily administration of various benefit programs including, but are not limited to, Dental, Vision, Service Awards, Tuition Reimbursement, Dependent Scholarships, Life Insurance, and the Employee Assistance Program
  • Ensures timely, accurate and compliant administration and processing of employee life events and Qualified Medical Support Orders
  • Provide back-up on leave administration and timecard entry, including the administration of the Company's Caregiving Leave program
  • Assist with yearly open enrollment and ACA compliance
  • Serves as a contact for employee and vendor questions/resolution
  • Prepares and/or analyzes benefits cost and utilization reports
  • Responsible for the review and audit of Workday enrollment and eligibility data
  • Works with vendors, carriers and consultants regarding the daily administration processes of each plan for which he/she is responsible
  • Works directly with internal and external benefits partners to develop and/or update communication materials for the benefits plans for which he/she is responsible, including the benefits website
  • Coordinate the drafting and preparation of certain compliance materials as required, including, but not limited to 5500 filings, Summary Annual Reports, Summary Plan Descriptions and Master Plan Documents for the benefit plans for which he/she is responsible
  • Provides training and assistance to field personnel
  • Supports other benefits programs, as requested
  • Develops and/or maintains administrative procedures for the duties of this position

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree with two to five years of professional experience and a general knowledge of employee benefit principles, practices and procedures.

General knowledge of laws/regulations pertaining to benefit administration in the U.S.

Experience managing benefit programs in a chemical manufacturing or general manufacturing environment helpful

Experience using Workday preferred

Ability to research/resolve problems or issues in a timely manner

Ability to work independently to resolve issues or problems on a day-to-day basis

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in a corporate environment

CEBS or similar certification preferred

Proficiency with Windows based software (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
