Responsibilities

  • Perform credit research on new customers and establish credit limits; approve existing customer credit within guidelines.
  • Request annual financial information from distributors and prepare analysis to set credit limits.
  • Review, negotiate, and execute construction contracts including insurance certificates and bonds.
  • Prepare and maintain credit department files and run periodic reports.
  • Build strong working relationships with accounts receivable and sales to understand customer terms.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer accounts and company financial information.
  • Obtain and maintain customer tax exemption certificates.
  • Perform past-due collections and document actions; coordinate with other departments to resolve disputes.
  • Monitor accounts receivable past-due reports and communicate findings to management and sales.
  • Assist in monthly closing duties as needed.

Job description

The Credit Analyst conducts research to establish and maintain customer credit limits and credit approve orders within company credit guidelines. Contact customers to request payment of past-due accounts. Review and administer construction, supplier, or vendor contracts.

Essential Functions
  • Perform credit research on new customers and establish corresponding credit limits. Provide existing customer credit approvals consistent with company credit guidelines.
  • Request annual financial information from distributors and prepare spreadsheet analysis to establish credit limits.
  • Review, negotiate, and execute construction contracts including performing related services such as providing required insurance certificates, payment and performance bonds, pay applications, and waiver of lien forms.
  • Prepare and maintain credit department files and run various periodic credit department reports
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the accounts receivable and sales department and to assure a full understanding of the customer’s account and its terms and conditions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer accounts, customer lists, and company financial information.
  • Obtain and/or maintain customer tax exemption certificates.
  • Perform past due account collection services including contacting customers to fulfill account payment terms and collect on overdue invoices. Document collection actions and complete necessary paperwork. Communicate with other company departments to resolve complaints/disputes that have produced payment delay.
  • Monitor and ensure all accounts receivable past due reports that aid in the Company’s collection efforts is timely and communicated to the management and sales staff.
  • Assist in monthly closing duties when needed to ensure all deadlines are met.
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in credit and collection procedures, manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Sr. level designation requires demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 5-7+ years of related experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Must have considerable experience administering construction, supplier, or vendor contracts. Fully competent in all essential job functions including a history of fully meeting performance expectations.
  • Credit Business Associate (CBA) certification or advanced credit designation is a plus.
  • Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint preferred.
