Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking an Analyst on its Corporate Development and Venture Capital team to drive deal execution from end to end, manage due diligence, and liaise with third-party advisors.

You will build financial models, develop deal strategies, and work with senior leadership to pursue strategic growth opportunities. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in finance, M&A, or corporate development, with preferred healthcare experience.

Become a part of our caring community Are you passionate about driving strategic growth and making an impact at the highest levels? As a Analyst on Humana's Corporate Development and Venture Capital team, you will be responsible for driving deal execution from end to end. This includes managing the due diligence process, and liaising with third-party advisors, such as law firms, investment banks, consultancy, and accounting firms. Additionally, you will ensure the transaction process runs smoothly through to completion. You will identify, research, analyze, make recommendations and negotiate potential investments, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures to support the organization's growth objectives. In this role, you will work closely with other senior members of the team and Humana's senior leadership/segment leads. You will be critical in making recommendations regarding the impact of possible mergers/acquisitions and divestitures on the organization's strategy and profitability. As you advance, you'll have opportunities to help define and promote strategic initiatives across the enterprise, working with visionary leaders to identify and pursue innovative, growth opportunities. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Development and Venture Capital, you'll be empowered to deliver high-impact results and advance your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The Analyst will provide technical expertise in executing deal work that will focus on: Driving deal processes from end to end, including developing timelines and deal strategies Being responsible for a detailed understanding of the business being acquired or divested Modeling the financial profile of the business, including the detailed support of company projections Helping lead cross-functional corporate development projects executed in partnership with senior leadership and business development teams Converting strategy into business cases and corporate development opportunities Managing external relationships with key business partners Working with Humana and Corporate Development leadership to establish and communicate the corporate development strategy Developing and refining key team operating systems and managing deal members.

Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree along with 2+ years of experience in finance, transaction accounting, venture capital/private equity, investment banking, consulting, and/or corporate development.
  • Experience in M&A and due diligence processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare experience

Location: must reside in or be willing to relocate to Washington D.C., Louisville, KY, or New York, NY.

Workstyle: Hybrid Office with expectation to be in office 3-4 days per week. Travel: estimated required travel once/month.

Reporting structure: You will report to a Vice President of Corporate Development.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $103,600 - $142,400 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
