Job summary

Stout is seeking a Valuation professional to help deliver independent valuation services across industries and geographies. You will lead analysis that supports private debt and equity portfolios, complex securities, and strategic expansion initiatives.

You will manage valuation teams, prepare client-ready reports, and build strong relationships while applying ASC 805, 350/360 and other standards. This role offers growth in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in business valuation.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or quantitative field.
• Strong knowledge of financial models and valuation methodologies.
• Progress toward or completion of CFA/ASA/CPA preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform corporate and asset valuations using DCF, earnings capitalization, comps, and M&A analyses.
• Prepare written valuation reports for client presentation.
• Develop client rapport and participate in due diligence meetings.
• Lead valuation projects and supervise junior staff as needed.
• Conduct company, industry and economic research to inform valuation opinions.
• Deliver valuation services addressing financial, tax, and regulatory needs.

Impact You’ll Make:

Stout’s Valuation Advisory professionals help clients gain confidence by bringing clarity to the most complex valuation matters. As one of the largest independent valuation practices in the country, we provide specialized experience across a broad spectrum of industries, asset classes and geographies.

This role will work on a variety of assignments, including the valuation of private debt and equity portfolios, complex securities and various strategic initiatives supporting Stout’s expansion objectives. This professional will manage a team of professionals responsible for production of valuation analysis and servicing client relationships.

What You’ll Do:

• Core Valuation Skills Needed: ASC 805 Purchase Price Allocation; ASC 350/360 Goodwill Impairment; IRC 409a stock-based compensation; and ASC 718 expense;

• Performing corporate and asset valuations including analysis of discounted cash flows, capitalization of earnings, comparable companies, merger and acquisition transactions, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment testing, and stock option analysis

• Preparing written valuation reports for client presentation

• Developing client rapport and participating in due diligence meetings and other client interactions

• Provide valuation services foremangement planning Conducting and overseeing company, industry, and economic research

• Analyzing general economic conditions and industry specific conditions and trends

• Deliver comprehensive valuation services to address financial, tax, and regulatory needs for individual companies

What You Bring:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in business valuation. The preferred candidate will have prior experience in purchase price allocations, impairment testing and other financial reporting related assignments, estate and gift tax valuation, transaction opinions, and corporate tax valuations

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, financial engineering, mathematics, or another quantitative field is required

• Strong knowledge of key financial models and valuation methodologies

• Progress towards or completion of professional designations such as CFA, ASA, or CPA are preferred

• Intermediate/advanced understanding of economics, financial theory and/or principles of accounting

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of Python and/or Tableau / Power Bi is a plus.
